A Weekend Success!
The CNMI Chapter of the Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) added 28 new couples to their family just last Sunday, March 21, 2010. The newly-encountered couples were presented to Bishop Tomas A. Camacho and to the community at the greet-off banquet. The 28-couple Weekend event is being boasted as one of the largest groups the CNMI has seen and is only the first one this year. Plans are in the works for another Weekend this Fall. The Weekend was presented by three couples and a priest. They are Mike & Jeanne Emry, Charles & Cathy Cepeda, Vince & Hilma Castro, and Father Ryan Jimenez. The Emrys traveled from Clayton, California, while the Cepedas, Castros and Fr. Ryan are local presenters. Mike & Jeanne Emry are not new to Saipan. This was their third trip here. Twice co-presenting a Weekend and once to present an enrichment workshop for the encountered couples and priests. The Emrys are the current WWME Section 12 Coordinators. The CNMI Chapter is part of WWME Section 12 that includes northern California, northern Nevada, Hawaii, Guam and Okinawa. The CNMI Ecclesial Team consisting of Fr. Isaac Ayuyu and Vince & Hilma Castro would like express a warm ‘Un dangkulo na si Yu’us Ma’ase,’ Ghilisow, and a big ‘Thank You” to Mike and Jeanne Emry for all of their support and encouragement. The Ecclesial Team also wishes to recognize with heartfelt appreciation everyone who worked tirelessly to make this weekend possible. Special recognition goes to the Weekend Coordinators, Tom & Erica Thornburgh and Weekend Co-Coordinators, John & Carol Hosono.
